Källarkrogen, Gothenburg, Sweden

This post is a continuation of my main post about my trip to Sweden, which can be found here.

DSC02171We had planned to eat in our hotel on our last night as our friends’ had left for Stockholm by this point, but having looked at the hotel menu it was very expensive and seemed to have few gluten free options.

Instead we ventured out and came across Källarkrogen which is actually a restaurant within a cellar!

I am very glad we chose to eat here as the food was gorgeous. I chose one of my favourite dishes, lamb shank which, as you can see from the photograph below, looked amazing.DSC02172

This meal cost 225.00 SEK (approx. £22.50) so it was a costly meal in the end, but the meat tasted divine and the atmosphere and service was great, so I didn’t mind spending this much on a meal.

We decided to also treat ourselves to a dessert on our last night and we both had ice cream served with fresh strawberries. This tasted very refreshing but at a cost of 63.00 SEK each (approx. £6.30), this made for some very expensive ice cream!

For more information about this restaurant you can visit their website (http://www.kallarkrogen.com/engelska/valkommen.aspx).
